Jurisprudence and Juristic Principles

1150 hadiths

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to leave fasting in a certain month until we would think that he has not fasted at all that month; and he used to fast in another month so much that we would think he has not stopped fasting at all in that month. If one wished to see him praying at night, one could see him (in that state), and if one wished to see him sleeping at night, one could see him (in that state) too There should be no envy except in two (cases): A man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and a man whom Allah has given wisdom and he judges according to it and teaches it to others He who weeps out of fear of Allah, will not enter the Hell till the milk returns into the udder It is better for one of you to take his rope, go out and gather a bundle of firewood on his back, sell it, and thereby Allah preserves his dignity, than to ask people—whether they give him or withhold from him The liar is not the one who seeks reconciliation between people, conveying good, or saying good things No one who enters Paradise would love to return to the life of this world even if he would be given everything that the world contains, except for the martyr. He will wish to return to the world and be killed ten more times on account of the honor that he will find The example of a Mujāhid in the cause of Allah is like a person who keeps fasting, praying and reciting the verses of Allah unfailingly until the Mujāhid returns If somebody keeps a horse in Allah's cause motivated by his faith in Allah and his belief in His promise, then he will be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection for what the horse has eaten or drunk and for its dung and urine Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah will receive the same reward of freeing a slave Paradise is guaranteed for any Muslim who fights in the cause of Allah for the length of time between two milkings of a she-camel. Anyone is wounded or injured in the cause of Allah, it will come on the Day of Judgment bleeding the most it ever bled, but its color will be like saffron and its fragrance will be like musk What an excellent man ‘Abdullāh is if only he observes the night prayer The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) bought a camel from him, and he weighed out (the price) and paid him more than his due Support your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed Indeed, silk is worn by him who has no share (in the Hereafter) Nay, I saw him in the Fire because of a mantle – or a cloak – that he had taken without right (from the war spoils) Which charity earns the greatest reward? He said: That you give charity when you are healthy and miserly, fearing poverty and hoping to become rich. Do not delay charity until your soul reaches up to the throat, and then you say: This is for so-and-so and this is for so-and-so. Lo, it has already come into the possession of so-and-so Theseits women This man followed us. If you wish, allow him to come in, and if you wish, he will go back I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) eating with three fingers, and when he finished eating, he would lick them Those who were not fasting today have taken all the reward
