O Abu al-Mundhir, do you know which verse of Allah's Book that you have is the greatest?" I said: "{Allah: none has the right to be worshiped except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining...} [Surat al-Baqarah: 255]." Thereupon, he struck me on the chest and said: "May knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu al-Mundhir!
When the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) went to bed every night, he would join his palms together and blow into them and recite the Surahs al-Ikhlās, al-Falaq, and an-Nās,
If you see those who follow the ambiguous verses, they are those whom Allah has named; so, beware of them
There is no man who commits a sin, then gets up and performs Tahārah (ritual purification), then performs prayer, then seeks forgiveness from Allah, except that Allah forgives him
The extent to which they betrayed you, disobeyed you, and lied to you will be measured against how much you punish them
Say 'there is no god but Allah', and I will testify for you by it on the Day of Judgment
{Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about your worldly pleasures.}
When you hear the Muezzin, say what he says and then invoke Allah's blessings upon me
When any of you enters the mosque, let him say: 'Allahumma iftah li abwāba rahmatik' (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy). And when he leaves, let him say: 'Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty)
That is Satan who is known as Khinzab. If you perceive his effect, seek refuge with Allah from him and spit three times to your left
Allah does not accept any deed except what is done purely for Him and in pursuit of His Countenance
“There are four (traits); whoever has them is a sheer hypocrite, and whoever has one trait of them has one of the traits of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous; whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; and whenever he is in a dispute, he behaves in a shameless immoral manner
Part of a person's excellence in Islam is his leaving what does not concern him
When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a pious child who supplicates for him
A believer is not a slanderer, nor a curser, nor a person who speaks obscenely, nor a person who uses foul language
Whoever says a hundred times in a day: "La ilāha illallāhu wahdahu la sharīka lah, lahu al-mulku wa lahu al-hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadīr" (There is no god but Allah. He is One, and He has no partner with Him; to Him belong the sovereignty and praise, and He is competent over all things)
The heart of an elderly person remains young in two things: in the love of this world and long hopes
Remember the destroyer of pleasures frequently," meaning death
Do not enter the dwellings of those who have wronged themselves, unless you are weeping
