Virtues and Manners

O Allah, just as You made my external form beautiful, make my character beautiful as well A believer is the mirror of his fellow believer And verily, Allah revealed to me that you must be humble, so that no one boasts of oneself before another or oppresses another Verily you cannot embrace and suffice all people with your money, but you can embrace and suffice them all with a cheerful face and good manners Never does the son of Adam do any deed that can save him from Allah's punishment more than remembering Allah Whoever exalts himself over others and walks with a swaggering gait (with pride), will meet Allah while He is angry with him If a Muslim visits his sick fellow Muslim, he will remain in the Khurfah of Paradise tills he leaves returns The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was given something to drink, so he drank from it, and there was a boy on his right None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ate food, he would lick his three fingers I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was giving a sermon The example of the companion of the Qur’an is like the owner of tied camels. If he keeps them tied, he will hold them; but if he releases them, they will run away That he passed by some boys, so he greeted them with Salām and said that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to do so The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man praising another and exaggerating in his praise, whereupon he said: You have ruined - or cut - the man's back. Woe unto you! You have cut the neck of your companion The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) forbade traveling with the Qur’an to the land of enemies Give my cloak back to me. Were I to have camels equal to the number of these trees, I would distribute them all among you, and you would not have found me a miser, a liar, or a coward Will you not listen? Will you not listen? Simplicity is part of faith, simplicity is part of faith O ‘Ā’ishah, indeed, Allah is gentle and He loves gentleness, and He gives for gentleness what He does not give for violence and what He does not give for anything else Indeed you possess two traits that Allah loves: prudence and deliberation
