When any of you sleeps, the devil ties three knots at the back of his head, striking each knot: Ahead of you is a long night, so keep sleeping Two eyes will not be touched by the Fire: an eye which has wept out of fear of Allah, and an eye which has spent the night guarding in the cause of Allah Every Ummah has a trial, and the trial of my Ummah is wealth All of my Ummah may be forgiven except those who commit sin openly No slave covers another slave in this world except that Allah would cover him on the Day of Judgment Let none of you die except while having good expectations of Allah I met Ibrāhīm (Abraham) on the night I was taken for a journey, and he said: O Muhammad, convey my greetings of peace to your Ummah and tell them that Paradise has pure soil and sweet water All that is left from Prophet-hood is the glad tidings If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, it would please me that I should have nothing left of it with me after the passage of three nights, except what I might retain to repay a debt If you are as you say, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and you will continue to have a supporter against them from Allah as long as you continue to do this This world in comparison with the Hereafter is like the amount of water one of you gets when he dips his finger in the sea. Let him see what his finger returns with No people leave a gathering in which they did not remember Allah except that it will be as if they are leaving the carcass of a donkey, and it will be a cause of regret for them I would not be pleased to have the like of Uhud in gold and three days pass while even one dinar thereof remains with me, except what I keep for debts. Otherwise, I would distribute it among Allah's slaves like this, and like this, and like this The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember His Lord is like the example of the living and the dead person Verily, among the things I fear the most for you after me is the splendor and adornment of this worldly life when they become plentifully available to you O Messenger of Allah, who is the most entitled among people to my good companionship? Then two of them come back: His family and his wealth, and there remain only his deeds
